Several customers have tried our new GOURMET toppings on our ALL BEEF JUMBO Hot Dogs! So far, the ZIPPY and the PRINCESS Dog are the crowd favorites! For those of you who like a little spice, try the ZIPPY! It is a jumbo all beef hot dog, topped with Sriracha asian hot sauce, jalepeno peppers and cilantro! To cool it off a little, add chopped green onion and sliced cucumbers! Dee-lish! The Cuzzins tried it and the tingle on your lips makes you want another one! Another crowd fave is the PRINCESS DOG! It features the same jumbo all beef hot dog, topped with our homemade Green Goddess Dressing, Feta Cheese, Green Onion and Cucumber! A nice tasting hot dog with a garlicky cool twist! Back in the day, when the Cuzzins were little sprouts, running around and having fun, they made up games like “Cowboys and Oootniks”, had sleepovers and played with their Grandmother “Nana’s” dogs! Not the kind of dogs you eat, but the kind of dogs that bark, fetch and chase after cars! My Mom always said that Nana, who grew up on a farm, always had a dog in the house! From the time that I can remember, the same was true… Nana had three dogs that I can remember…Prince, Zippy, and Max! Prince, a german shepard mix, was quiet and stately. Zippy was just that (though not as much in later years), and Max, oh yes, Max, was a crazy little dachschud mix! My sister and I had a dog too, Sir Coco of Brisbane, who was an Australian Terrier, and later my sister had a dog “Coco 2″ who was a little Princess. Princess Coco ended up with a Cuzzin, and the rest is history! Those dogs are the inspiration for Cuzzins’ new “Designer Haute Dawgs”! “Haute Dogs (pronounced Hotdogs) are hot these days! (Ok, pun intended!) Haute is a french word that generally means “fashionably elegant”. Cuzzins Designer Haute Dawgs freshen up the idea of gourmet hot dogs with fresh toppings on jumbo beef hot dogs and you can design your own! Cuzzins spent the holidays feasting on TURDUCKEN at Thanksgiving and Roast Beef and Ham during Christmas! Side dishes included Green Beans, Potato Salad, Macaroni and Cheese and Greens! And for desert we had Cheesecake, German Chocolate cake, and Sweet Potato pies! We rang in the New Year with Sauerkraut, Ribs and Black Eyed Peas and now we are busy working on our menu for Spring 2012! Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter! Cuzzins’ trusty charbroil grill has worked hard this season! But the toll of delivering great grilled items each week to our customers at the BCG Farmer’s Market and at local fairs and festivals certainly has put our ol’ trusty grill on its last legs! Not to worry! Cuzzins now has a new grill! With 8 burners, our new propane event grill has over 1000 square inches of grill space! That’s enough space to to cook 65 hamburgers or 126 hotdogs!!!! And of course, plenty of space to cook more of Cuzzins’ tasty grilled vegetables, flank steak, chorizo, italian sausage and chicken for our delicious Po’Boy sandwiches! Come see our grill in action at the BCG Farmer’s Market and take home some of our cuisine! Why cook?
Next time try some of our cupcakes…newest varieties are Apple Cider and Toasted Coconut Haystack Cupcakes!!
Although it rained this weekend, the Takoma Park Street Festival was loaded with visitors, looking for crafts, activities, music, and of course food! Cuzzins was pleased to be a sponsor of the event and warmed up the crowd with Hot Apple Cider from local producer, Heyser Farms! We served Po’ Boy Sandwiches with Chorizo, Italian Sausage, and Chicken! We also had JUMBO Hotdogs from Nathans! Dee-lish! Cupcake flavors of Red Velvet, Lemon Velvet, Vanilla with Chocolate Icing, and Coconut Cupcakes were enjoyed by the crowd!
